Watch Gik Claw D38 do its thing
80 settings. Magnetic cup. Battery powered.
38mm 6-star SS420 conical burr — sharp, wear-resistant, uniform output
The 6-star SS420 stainless steel conical burr is machined for sharp cutting edges, high hardness, and wear resistance — producing fast, uniform powder output with every grind. The same burr geometry as the Gik Onyx, but the 20W motor does the work. CNC aluminum alloy body keeps it precise and light.
80 adjustable grind settings — espresso to French press, exactly
80 individual grind settings on an external numbered dial ring — from ultra-fine espresso through coarse French press. Each click is a repeatable, consistent setting. Find your pour-over number once, come back to it every morning. More settings than most grinders twice the price.
Magnetic alignment cup — snaps into position, every time
The grounds cup uses magnetic alignment — bring it close and it snaps automatically into the correct catch position under the burr output. No fumbling, no misalignment, no grounds on the counter. Remove it the same way: one clean pull. The 1800mAh USB rechargeable battery sits on the base panel, charged via the same cable as your phone.
1800mAh rechargeable battery — multiple sessions per charge
The 1800mAh lithium battery means multiple full grinding sessions before you need to recharge. Charge via USB on the base panel — the same port as your phone. No separate cable to lose. The compact 181mm × 61mm body means it travels anywhere without taking up counter space.
CNC aluminum alloy body + solid wood cap — counter-ready by design
The body is CNC-machined aluminum alloy — not cast, not moulded. CNC means tighter tolerances, better surface finish, and a grinder that feels like precision equipment because it is. The solid walnut wood top cap completes the look — the same material signature as the Gik Onyx hand grinder. Dimensions: 61mm wide, 181mm tall, 100mm base footprint.
80 settings. One for every method.
80 numbered settings on the external dial ring — from ultra-fine espresso to coarse French press. The numbered scale means you can log your setting, share it, and return to it with zero guesswork.

Answered.
How does the grind quality compare to the Gik Onyx?
The Gik Claw D38 uses a 38mm conical burr — the same burr type as the Gik Claw Onyx, driven by a 20W motor. Consistent bi-modal particle distribution, no cranking required. If you own an Onyx and want the same grind without the arm work, the Gik One is exactly that.
How long does the battery last?
A full charge gives you multiple grinding sessions. For a single dose of 15–18g per grind, expect 8–12 sessions per charge depending on roast density and grind setting. A quick USB-C charge before your week is usually all you need.
Why single dose instead of a hopper?
Pre-loading a hopper means your beans are exposed to air and light every time you open the lid — degrading freshness with every session. Single dose means you weigh exactly what you need, grind it fresh, and use it immediately. It's the workflow of serious home baristas and specialty cafes, not a limitation.
Should I get the Gik Claw D38 or the Gik Fang?
If your morning is unhurried and you enjoy the ritual of grinding — get the Fang. If you're time-pressed, brew multiple cups a day, work at an office, or travel frequently — get the Gik One. The grind quality is comparable. The workflow is completely different.
What brew methods does the Gik Claw D38 cover?
All of them. The external stepped adjustment covers espresso-fine through French press-coarse. AeroPress, pour-over, moka pot, drip, cold brew — the full range. Use the grind settings guide on this page as your starting point and adjust from there.
